How the calculation works
Each quote applies its own order increment and minimum charged quantity, then adds entered fees and tax. A lower-priced winner appears only after both scopes are complete.
A worked example
At 3 yd³, $150/yd³ plus $200 in fees totals $650. Another quote at $170/yd³ plus $50 totals $560, before any other applicable costs.
Why can a higher price per yard produce a lower total?
Delivery, short-load charges, minimum billed quantities and other fees can outweigh a lower material rate. Compare complete totals for the same scope and order quantity, not only the price per cubic yard.
What to check before using the result
- A low unit price does not always mean a lower final bill.
- Minimum charged volume and short-load fees are separate fields: enter both only if your quote actually charges both.
