Geometry first, buying decisions second
Calculate net geometric volume using consistent units. Add the selected material allowance once. Whole bags round up by product yield. Supplier order increments and minimum billed quantities apply only when entered. Displayed decimals are rounded for reading; calculations use unrounded values.
Product-specific references
Bag yield defaults use QUIKRETE #1101 at 0.60 ft³ for an 80 lb bag. Other product yields may differ. Masonry modules combine actual face dimensions and joint widths. Mortar uses editable manufacturer coverage, not a claim of exact joint volume.
Prices and unknown values
We do not present invented rates as current local quotes. Blank prices mean unknown. Enter zero only when a charge is confirmed not applicable. Comparisons name a lower entered total only when the required scopes are complete. Tax is applied to the entered subtotal; suppliers may tax items differently.
Verification and editorial standards
Calculation tests cover geometry, conversions, rounding, product yields, invalid dimensions and incomplete quote scopes. Guides use original worked examples and link to relevant primary references. Sources support particular product or technical facts; they do not certify our website. No fabricated reviews or credentials are used.
Limits
These are quantity and budget tools, not structural design, site inspection or code approval. They do not choose thickness, strength, reinforcement, foundation dimensions or transport capacity. Use project specifications and confirm quantities, products and charges before purchase.
