Rebar Quantity Calculator

Count straight bars for dimensions, cover and maximum spacing already specified in your plan.

Your project

Project sketchFrom your inputs
20 ft20 ftSpecified spacing 12 in
Schematic, not to scale. Drawn pieces do not represent the purchase count.
Decimal feet or feet and inches, e.g. 10' 6".
Editable planning allowance; actual waste varies.

How the calculation works

Bars in each direction = round up (usable perpendicular span ÷ maximum spacing) + 1. Sum the lengths and apply your cutting/lap allowance.

A worked example

For a 10 × 10 ft area, zero edge cover and 12 in maximum spacing, 11 bars run in each direction: 220 linear feet before allowance.

What to check before using the result

  • This counts a supplied design; it does not choose bar size, cover or spacing.
  • Stock-length equivalents are not an optimized cutting or lap-splice plan.
